Lubar Family Research Fellowship

Term: Summer

Funding to CC students to pursue summer research in the field of Latin American politics or policy-making

The Lubar Family Research Fellowship will be awarded annually to one or more CC student who wish to pursue summer research in the field of Latin American politics or policy-making related to economic development and improved standards of living within Latin America and the Caribbean nations.

Students are expected to carry out this research under the supervision of a faculty member from Columbia who will be required to supervise the project and provide advice throughout the period of research. The fellowship’s intent is to give students the opportunity to pursue their intellectual goals and gain valuable research experience in the area of Latin American politics, policy-making, and/or economic development.

Individual awards usually range from $500 to $5,000, depending on the budget required for each project. Awards cannot be used for the completion of formal coursework or structured internships. If you are awarded a Lubar Family Research Fellowship, you may be asked to speak at an information session for prospective applicants in the fall and will be required to present a poster of your research in October as part of an undergraduate research symposium.
