Philly Fellows Program

Philadelphia, ,

Term: Academic Year

Year-long work placement and training in the nonprofit field in Philadelphia

The Philly Fellows Program offers year-long fellowships that connect college graduates to nonprofit work opportunities in Philadelphia, developing their leadership skills and engaging them in the city’s communities in the process. Along with their full-time positions, fellows dedicate a portion of every week to participating in leadership and professional development training.

Fellows receive a $12,311 living stipend, health insurance, and a $5,350 education award (upon completion of the program); fellows are also eligible for student loan repayment deferrals. In addition, the Philly Fellows program provides free furnished housing for the year, shared with other fellows, and a small monthly transportation allowance.

Candidates must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents who are currently enrolled as college seniors at the time of application. Although the program recruits at Philadelphia-area schools, the application process is open to all graduating seniors.

The program is especially interested in students who see the vibrancy in city communities, who see themselves as future leaders in urban settings, who are committed to the values espoused by participating nonprofits, and who want to encourage others in civic engagement.
