The Arnold A. Saltzman Institute of War and Peace Studies announces a call for applications for the 2020 Saltzman Student Scholar Program!
To encourage and mentor the next generation of scholars in international relations, Saltzman Institute Director Keren Yarhi-Milo has implemented a special program for select undergraduate political science majors, the Saltzman Student Scholars Program.
Chosen through competitive application, Saltzman Student Scholars will be invited to public and private Institute events including seminars, round tables and meetings. They will receive mentoring from members of the Institute and guidance when preparing their applications for graduate school. Should they wish, Saltzman Student Scholars can apply to become research assistants at the Institute, an opportunity to work with faculty on courses and independent research. Saltzman Student Scholars will be listed in a special section of our website along with their photo and biography.
1. Applicants must be rising junior or senior declared majors in political science with an interest in international relations.
2. Submit a 1-page memo detailing your background, accomplishments, and anticipated future plans.
3. Request that a confidential reference letter/email be sent from your advisor or a faculty member you have taken class with.
4. Submit an unofficial Columbia University transcript.
All materials should be sent to Assistant Director Ingrid Gerstmann (firstname.lastname@example.org). Any questions may be addressed to her via email as well.
The application deadline for the Fall 2020 Saltzman Student Scholars Program is August 15, 2020.
