Call for applicants! The Roaring Cubs Collective, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization run by student researchers aims to offer accessible and effective STEM mentorship to high school and middle school students.
If you have prior research experience or are currently conducting academic research, this is a great opportunity to use your knowledge to help younger students gain early exposure and discover their passions in scientific research. We have had mentors from schools all over the US (Columbia, Harvard, Cornell, Duke, UCLA, Yale, etc.).
Over the summer semester, we will conduct an 8-week virtual program (July 2nd - August 29th, 2025) and introduce students to the skills of research, such as how to read and synthesize scientific information, how to formulate questions, and how to identify and gain access to opportunities at research institutions. All of our programming will be virtual and the research component will be literature-based. The estimated time commitment is 1-2 hours per week.
