Call for Graduate Student Applications: Student Travel Awards for Field Station Research in Chile (5/15)

The Columbia Global Center in Santiago has reached an agreement with Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (UC) for Columbia graduate students to make use of the uniquely situated Field Stations across Chile, which provide unparalleled opportunities for hands-on research and education.

The Santiago Global Center invites applications from masters and pre-doctoral students who are currently enrolled at any Columbia school or affiliate and who are interested in pursuing field research in Chile. The Santiago Center aims to make two graduate travel awards of up to $10,000 (per award) to cover travel to and from the field station (including international airline travel), any fees the station may charge, and living expenses.

Interested students are invited to apply to one of three field stations (described below) to conduct 2-3 months of field research during the 2024 Northern Hemisphere Fall (Southern Hemisphere Spring).

Applications will be open between April 15 and May 15, 2024. Learn more here.
