Research Assistant with New York Public Library

A team of UC Irvine faculty are seeking a New York-based research assistant for short-term paid work scanning historical documents at the New York Public Library. As part of a broader National Science Foundation project, the team is collecting historical financial data from the Rand McNally Bankers Atlas series. You would be provided with the list of call numbers at NYPL to request the relevant volumes and perform the scanning. The position estimates approximately 50 hours of scanning work based out of the NYPL, at $16/hr. You could perform the scanning flexibly on your own schedule, though the work will need to be completed within the next 1-3 months. If interested email varthi@uci.edu for more information.
