May Louise Dittel ‘22GS and Manuel Enrique Feigl ‘21GS are among 18 Columbia undergraduates chosen to participate in the Millennium Fellowship, a semester-long leadership development program for students who are deeply committed to social impact, sustainable development, and climate change.
Dittel was recognized for s(H)e, a project she co-founded with three other students, based on the belief that the feminist movement is in dire need of more dialogue on issues that usually are usually not covered by mainstream media and that bring to the fore intersectional perspectives. "I am humbled to have been selected as part of the Millennium Fellowship, because it will provide me with the opportunities to expand my own horizons, skills, and networks regarding the project I hold dear to my heart."
Feigl was awarded the Fellowship for ALPFA Para Puerto Rico. His project aims to accurately collect data and conduct reports on the severity of the 2017-18 natural disaster events in Puerto Rico. "I am extremely excited and honored to form part of this year's Millennium Fellowship cohort, as it provides a structured support system for young leaders across nationalities to impact their communities through collective action."
