The Application Process: Personal Statements v. Research Proposals

Within fellowship applications, the two most commonly required materials include the personal statement and research proposal. But, what is the difference? What should you cover in each, or how do you address both - if only required to submit a single essay? This workshop will present approaches for thinking creatively and purposefully about how to write about your experiences, motivations, and research goals, while exploring the differences between a research statement and a personal statement!
