The CODE2040 Fellows Program is the flagship program of a nonprofit organization that creates pathways to educational, professional, and entrepreneurial success in technology for underrepresented minorities, with a specific focus on Black and Latinx students. The program places high-performing Black and Latino/a software engineering students in internships with top tech companies and provides mentorship, leadership training, and network development. Host companies agree to provide competitive pay, and some may assist with housing and transportation.
The application process eventually involves matching to a host company in the San Francisco Bay area for a full-time ten- to twelve-week internship. Host companies agree to provide access to work on a project considered “mission-critical” and to provide mentoring and other performance feedback through the course of the internship.
Candidates must be undergraduate or graduate students planning to return to school in the fall semester following the internship. They must have experience with coding within and beyond classroom settings, have passion for entrepreneurship and innovation, demonstrate leadership potential, and self-identify as Black and/or Latinx.
