This hands-on program is designed to deepen Fellows’ understanding of healthcare systems, hospital operations, and community health, all while developing leadership, communication, and patient care skills.
Core Components of the fellowship
- Supporting patients during hospitalization and after discharge through companionship, activities, home visits, and follow-up care.
- Leading High School Scholars Program sessions, coordinating job shadowing, and supporting school-based outreach.
- Assisting with hospital operations, student rotations, communications, fundraising, and community event support.
- Volunteering with local organizations and participating in community events to build relationships and strengthen partnerships.
- Daily meetings, mentorship, and weekly healthcare discussions with Project Horseshoe Farm Community Health Fellows.
