Provides summer experiences for African American male college students.

The Institute for Responsible Citizenship serves some of America’s best and brightest African American male college students. Our scholars attend a diversity of colleges and universities and have a wide range of academic and career interests. Students apply during their sophomore year of college and participate in the Institute in the summers before their junior and senior years.

The Institute offers a rigorous experience that includes high level internships, housing on a college campus, an intensive seminar, professional development workshops, private meetings with influential public and private sector individuals, and a variety of social activities. Our scholars become a part of a supportive network that exists to help them excel in their future endeavors. All of this is provided for them at no cost.
