Financial support for service programs abroad lasting at least six months

A program of the InterExchange Foundation, Christianson Fellowship are awarded to individuals who have arranged their own service programs abroad. Proposed programs must be at least six months in duration and must emphasize a work component. Grants will not support independent research projects or academic study abroad programs.

Awards typically range from $2,500 to $10,000 each, depending on a recipient’s project need, and there are three application cycles each year.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents between the ages of 18 and 28 and planning to participate in a work, internship, or volunteer program overseas for at least six months. The work experience may not be part of an academic degree program, and it may not include missionary work or work with other religious programs.
