Offers full-year paid English-teaching and interpreter positions in Japan

The Japan Exchange and Teaching Program (JET) seeks to help enhance internationalization in Japan by promoting mutual understanding between Japan and other nations.The program also aims to improve foreign language education in Japan and to encourage international exchange at the local level by fostering ties between Japanese youth and foreign youth

JET Program participants in the Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) program work alongside their Japanese counterparts to teach English to children of all ages in schools. No language proficiency is required.

Participants in the Coordinator for International Relations (CIR) program have a high degree of Japanese language proficiency and work in government positions as interpreters.
