A ten-month AmeriCorps apprenticeship program focusing on leadership training and development within nonprofit and community-based organizations

Public Allies offers a national network of inspiring leaders dedicated to practicing six core values of Diversity/Inclusion, Collaboration, Continuous Learning, Integrity, Building on Assets, and Innovation. Within the ten-month apprenticeship program, in partnership with AmeriCorps, the Fellows are placed within nonprofit and community-based organizations, where they are encouraged to learn, grow, and lead in diverse and challenging environments.

The program starts in the fall and runs through summer. Allies who are selected will invest 10 months in nonprofit and community-based organizations, while receiving valuable leadership training and facilitated professional networking with nonprofit and community leaders, among many other benefits (including, a monthly living stipend, Student loan forbearance or deferment, healthcare, childcare subsidy). As part of the Public Allies program, Fellows are welcomed into the AmeriCorps national service network and also receive the Eli Segal Education Award.

There are a variety of Public Allies placement sites offered throughout the USA. It is highly recommended that you reach out to site(s) which you are interested in applying for and connect with local staff before you apply. Most sites start in September, but some have other start dates throughout the year.
