The Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholarship and Leadership Program seeks to cultivate leaders of tomorrow by providing an opportunity for outstanding university graduates and professionals to pursue fully-funded graduate studies at the University of Oxford, alongside participating in a comprehensive program of leadership development, long-term mentoring, and networking.
The scholarship covers course fees and provides an annual living stipend. Additionally, the Leadership Program is a unique opportunity, where over the course of a year scholars participate in philosophical discussions, learn business skills, and receive communication training within a supportive community. More information on this can be found on the Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Trust website.
Eligibility
Candidates must be applying to start a new, full-time graduate course at Oxford, within one of the eligible courses. Candidates must also be ordinarily resident in one of the eligible countries. Students currently at Oxford are not eligible to apply unless they are already Weidenfeld-Hoffmann scholars.
To be eligible for consideration, applicants must be successful in being offered a place on their proposed course. Course applications which are held over after the December or January deadline to be re-evaluated against applications received by the March deadline or course applications which have been put on a waiting list are not eligible for consideration.
Shortlisted candidates will be required to participate in an interview and, upon program and degree completion, Scholars should plan to return to their home country of ordinary residence.
Application Process
In order to be considered for this scholarship, candidates must select the Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholarships and Leadership Programme in the University of Oxford Scholarships section of the University's graduate application form and submit an application for graduate study by the relevant December or January course deadline (if multiple deadlines exist, URF advises to submit for the earliest deadline shared). In addition to the course application, candidates must complete a Scholarship Application and Statement and upload/attach it to their degree program application.
Within application, candidates should be able to demonstrate a connection between their subject of study and longer-term career objectives, explaining how they see their professional work contributing to the improvement of public life in their country of origin or at a wider regional or international level.
