Congratulations to Alexandra Bradbury SEAS'26 for being named a 2026 Saint Andrew's Society Scholar!

Founded in 1756, Saint Andrew's Society of the State of New York is the oldest charitable organization in New York State. In continued efforts to promote cultural interchange and goodwill between Scotland and the United States, the Saint Andrew's Society awards postgraduate fellowships for American students to study in Scotland, and for Scottish students to study in America. Since 1956, the Scholarship Program has provided over 200 scholarships of these awards. Three to five scholars are named each academic year.

Alexandra Bradbury SEAS'26

Alexandra Bradbury SEAS'16 hails from Lexington, KY, and studies Chemical Engineering and Music. In her time at Columbia, Alexandra has served as the senior class representative of Columbia’s American Institute of Chemical Engineers chapter, Co-Executive Director of the King’s Crown Chapter of the National Residence Hall Honorary, Vice President and bassoonist of the Columbia University Wind Ensemble, and a composer/music director for student-written shows on campus. As a Saint Andrew's Scholar, Alexandra will pursue an MsC (research) in Chemistry at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. Her research will focus on the study the chemical recycling of nitrile rubbers, most commonly used in laboratory gloves, into polyamines through chemoselective catalytic hydrogenation, repurposing them to make products such as resins, surfactants, and chelating agents.
