Program Term: Spring 2027; a 16-week, full-time, on-site research appointment.

Description: SULI provides mentored, hands-on research experiences at participating DOE national laboratories and facilities. Interns work alongside scientists, engineers, and technical professionals on research and technology projects supporting the DOE mission. Areas of potential work include artificial intelligence, quantum science, nuclear energy and technology, biotechnology, critical minerals and materials, fusion science and engineering, and the Genesis Mission.
Eligibility: U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents age 18 or older who are full-time undergraduate students or eligible recent graduates and meet the program’s academic requirements.
Compensation: $650 weekly stipend, plus eligible travel reimbursement and laboratory-dependent housing support.
