UK Scholarships Week
UK Scholarships Week will introduce interested students and alums to multiple fellowships for graduate study in the UK through online information sessions, held from March 30 - April 3 2026, providing everything from overviews of the scholarships to hearing from members of the Columbia community who are alumni of the scholarships, to a visit from the Churchill Foundation. URF welcomes all years and graduates of CC, SEAS, GS, who are keen to learn more about the Rhodes, Marshall, Gates-Cambridge, Churchill, and Ellison Scholarships - with an eye on applying this year or in the future! Events will not be recorded.

Session I: Focus on the early deadlines!
Rhodes and Marshall Scholarships: A Guided Tour of the Application
Monday, March 30 from 1-2pm EST
Welcome to UK Fellowships week! Join URF Advisors for a hands-on walkthrough of the Rhodes and Marshall Scholarship applications. This session will cover the full application process, key strategies for writing strong essays, and tips for putting together a competitive submission. Learn how to approach each stage thoughtfully and plan your application effectively.

Session II: Rhodes and Marshall Faculty and Alumni: A Panel Discussion
Tuesday, March 31 from 4-5pm EST
Want to hear firsthand insights about applying to the world’s most prestigious scholarships? Join us for a panel discussion featuring CU faculty and recent alumni who are Rhodes/Marshall Scholars. Our panelists will share their experiences, strategies for crafting strong applications, and lessons learned along the way—plus answer your questions in a live Q&A.

Session III: Demystifying the UK Fellowship World for the FGLI Candidate: A Discussion and Workshop

In this session, connect with CU alumni who just a short while ago were in your shoes! Join URF to consider strategies and guidance on how to tackle a fellowship application.

Session IV: Meet the Churchill: Independent STEM Research at Cambridge University
Thursday, April 2 from 304pm
In this session the Director of the Churchill Scholarship will join URF to discuss the Churchill opportunity, applications to Cambridge and more. Pizza will be served!
