Harrison Zhang CC'22

Congratulations to Harrison Zhang CC’22, who has been named a 2025 Knight-Hennessy Scholar! Originally from Berwyn, PA, Harrison majored in Biology and Statistics as a Columbia undergraduate. He is now pursuing an MD-PhD in Biomedical Data Science at Stanford School of Medicine, where, as a Knight-Hennessy Scholar, he plans to focus on developing AI and ML tools for precision medicine. Ultimately, Harrison seeks to use artificial intelligence and biotechnologies to develop more personalized, accessible, and equitable health care. To achieve his vision, Harrison has pioneered a tripartite approach combining translational machine learning research, compassionate medical care for vulnerable patient populations, and human-centered policy innovation. As an undergraduate, Harrison was a Science Research Fellow, and was awarded translational research fellowships from Harvard Medical School. Harrison is also a Samvid Scholar.

The Knight-Hennessy Scholars program selects 100 Scholars each year, providing them with funding to pursue graduate study at Stanford University, with the goal of developing a community of future global leaders who will address complex challenges through collaboration and innovation across disciplines.

Columbia students and alums interested in learning more about and applying for the Knight-Hennessy Scholarship and other fellowship programs are encouraged to connect with advisors at Undergraduate Research and Fellowships.
